Should I clone or should I not that is the question. I recently went to the Meadowlands to try for this Red Shouldered Hawk that seemed to have every time I tried for a captured a ton of branches obstructing the composition,I followed this Raptor for some time till finally I got my chance ,it was quite a nice Shot but still I had to remove some branches to make the capture presentable here is the transformation. please let me know if you see any infractions.
And the final version all obstructions removed.
After the Meadowland I decided to head to Elmwood park at the Passiac River to a very reliable Fish Crow spot .
What a great time these guys were very tame and it was great to work on getting my Black detail's down, It was funny I heard American Crows in the same area but they were no way as approachable .

Changing my Blog name+ Lifebird#401
What's in a name you say ? Time for change. I now modified my Blog to Jersey Digiscoping with Kowa Prominar ,I thought it would be a little more catchy , thanks Roy R my co-worker for the help.
On Sunday I had the chance to add another life Bird to my list a Black Headed Gull #401, it is not a stellar shot but good for document purposes .
Plenty of Waterfowl was available at the Waterfront like Ruddy Ducks and Red Breasted Merganser.
It was a pleasure using the TSN-10Z Zoom eyepiece, to bring out the details of these Canvasbacks.

A tribute to my mentor
Mike McDowell has always been an inspiration to many budding Digiscopers and Birders alike including me.
Mike helped me develop my style behind the Scope with sharing some of the tricks of the trade along with his sense of humor, and without his guidance I would probably not be at the skill level I am at currently, he is also an ace with troubleshooting along with figuring out just about any Scope camera combination on the market adapting his knowledge to were he is employed Eagle Optics along with his blog.
So here is a toast to you Mike O Bud from all of us to all of you with your stellar work thanks.

Red and White Winged Crossbill a double lifer
I finally made it down to Long Branch at Seven Presidents Park for both species of Crossbills which would be lifers for me.
I arrived at about 7am and got set up about 45 minutes later, why I was searching the Pines I couldn't stop wondering did all of my procrastinating over the last month, maybe the Birds have depleted the Cone crop at this location and moved on?
After about 2 hours Rob Fanning and some other Birders asked me did I see anything ,I said the only thing was hearing some fly overs, so I got in my Truck and drove down to Deal another proven location but no dice dead. , so I headed back up to the park for another try after it only took a few minutes and I spotted a Male and Female Red Crossbill flocking to a near conifer Hurrah!!
After taken some decent Digiscoped shots of the Red"s, I seen alot of activity in some other Japanese Pines. The White Winged were moving in , yes I had my two lifers! Plus some great shots with the Kowa TSN-10PZ Zoom eyepiece what a day!!!

Back in the Saddle
Sorry folks for not being around I just had to do a little soul searching, and sort out some personal problems, in which need some more attention but I just have to take it one step at a time, and re group and come back stronger with the help of a higher authority.
Anyway I finally got out to Meadowlands boy what a Winter, I had not been out in over a month and had to get back into the groove, I did manage to find some Canvasbacks but the lighting was off ,so I searched the area and did find some wintering White Crowns two of them in bad lighting but ended up getting one keeper.

Meadowlands Ducks
I'm sorry I have not been around lately between the holidays and being under the weather I have not had a chance to post or get in between some decent weather,so Finally got a chance to par take in the Duck action at De Korte before the real cold weather settles in and it Ices over.
The Weather was perfect with light winds and a Balmy 45 degrees I had a chance at some Shoveler s and Pintails, I was hoping for some Canvasbacks but the Sun Angle was totally off even these shots were taking at some distance.
