Alot of Photographers Digiscopers alike tend to overdo it at times with Photoshop and other software, the key is you can't make a crappy base picture look good with post processing .
This Savannah Sparrow was just cropped with bad lighting also but it is workable.

I have the other extreme of the problem - I take too many photos and end up post-processing almost none of them. I only really get round to post processing when I am in desperate need of a good procrastination tool ;-)
my photos suffer for the lack of post-processing attention.
