Species interaction

It was interesting observing an Eastern Kingbirds behavior towards other passerines .
For Example how come the King tolerates Orchard Orioles but can't stand Baltimore Orioles is it a color thing?Or aggresive jesters in posture?
These two species were found at Robert Stahl Grassland area a jem of a park with no problem of Dog walkers to sour the Birding experience.

The Empid complexity.

In my mind the Empidomax complexity can be solved the easiest way I think is by song.
Also there is a Petersons advanced Birding paperback guide that goes into detail about the subtle differences on the Empid Flycatchers call notes, beak and mouth color, eye rings, and many more.
This Empid however I had conformation on his Fitz-Bew that it is a Willow Flycatcher , another interesting vocalization was subtle Pip notes he was uttering.

Discovering Alpine Birds: Digiscoping Today - A Weekly Blog Carnival

Robert Stahl area

I finally found a decent Prairie Warbler breeding area located in Somerset county New Jersey , along with about 5 different Males I spied,Indigo Buntings were in good supply too.
Another surprise was the Purple Martins that took up residence in the hollowed out gourdes .

P.S thanks Jim Gilbert the info.

Vacation roundup am I satified with my accomplishment?

My vacation is winding down now , am I satisfied with my Digiscoping accomplishment yes and no,
you say? Part of it was on my Warblers captures ex specially the Blue Winged Warbler I know it is a decent shot but I think using a angled scope hampers my tracking ability giving me only one frame to work. with also I feel I lost a decent Blackburnian capture in the same manor among others,
Although I think this common Yellowthroat was one of my better captures.

Little Blue Heron imm & Least Sandpiper

I took a brake today from chasing Warblers with my Scope or should I say I was just a little burnt out on it?
So I went too Mill Creek to look for some Migrating Shorebirds and anything else that happens to fly through when I stumbled on to this Imm Little Blue Heron!
In a way I wish I had my P6000 hooked up to my scope for it does deliver slightly better captures but I wanted to work with my P5100 today .

Breeding Grounds

Ventured out of the migrant zone to sample some of Jerseys nesting Warbler species ,
this Blue Winged Warbler was another luck capture all though they tend to be a little easier on the breeding grounds

Yellow Warbler

My first decent shot at one of these bright Yelloe fellars!

Shorebirds North Bound

Decided to check out Mill Creek Marsh for some Northbound Sandpipers, all though the lighting was not to great I did manage to squeeze out a few Breeding Plumage Least Sandpiper"s .

In the next few weeks the Semipalmated Plovers and others should be passing through,

after a week of chasing Warblers with my Kowa 883 the Peeps were a refreshing change.

Challenge?

Yes !!! A decent Warbler capture and of all subjects one of the most difficult a Northern Parula, I gonna tell you to get one of these guys to hang on a branch for your focus lock to do its thing you may think it is easier to win the lottery, but I found my opportunity when he paused to preen about 40 to 50 feet in distance, remember patience.
