Birded Jamaica Bay Saturday, a different type of day from the previous week , first of all I like to give Kudos for the lousy ,awful ,terrible job that the person who controls the drainage for the east pond face it pal you are not doing your job!!!!!
These Shorebirds need foraging areas to fuel the rest of there long journey and by not opening the gates to release the water excess.
You will be increasing the mortality rate ,for some birds that are already in trouble think about that !!! So I hope this week some improvement in the levels will be the case.

Hi Kevin,
Well said. We've been fighting with them all season. You should send it to the refuge manager for it to have any effect.
