First I will add the RAW version in which I added UnSharpen mask at 50% 0.7 .
Now here is the JPEG version were I tried to duplicate the color as close as possible No sharpening was added just re sized.
Here is a Robin I did in RAW on Thursday my conclusion is JPEG is kind off of fake out making yourself believe your Pictures are sharper than they are actually , RAW shooting shows all infractions.

that first image is stunning. I have to admit that I loove taking lots of photos, but I almost never have time to post-process any, so my images are usually used straight from the camera (after a short re-sizing detour through iPhoto). One day I will convince myself that I need to make the time to take raw and process.
You can add sharpening and a JPEG picture style later in DPP, I think the main advantage of shooting RAW is the dynamic range.
Dale I have more shots that go in the Garbage with RAW cause I feel sometime JPEG sharpening can add infractions but I will still shoot in JPEG about 80% I think.
Absolute Stu with the White Balance and other settings that can be fine tuned, Im sorry what is DPP ?
I think Stu is probably referring to Digital Photo Professional, Canon's proprietary RAW workflow software
Hi Kev, sorry DPP is Canon's software, if you took this with the S90 you could use it. If this wasn't with the S90 disregard everything I said!
It's just a RAW converter, like ACR/Lightroom etc but with far fewer frills........
